I am currently working as an Artworker at Linklaters. This is a law firm where brand identity is very important. Here I work on different layouts and platforms. Working with Indesign primarily and Dreamweaver for email layouts. I am part of a team that ensures the brand guidelines are adhered to.
Before Linklaters, I had temporarily worked with Careco, based in Brentwood. Here I reworked the newspaper templates, recreated icons for the website and also worked with photo software to create 360 videos for products on the website.
Before this, I had finished working with a company called Perspective Publishing based in London. Here I gained valuable knowledge and gained experience with projects such as video shooting and editing. I also worked on email campaigns, creating html and layouts for these as well as various other online projects. I also worked on brochures, invites and other printed materials such as magazines.
I previously worked as an Artworker for VCG Kestrel in Witham. I worked as part of a team for what the company calls 'Branded Accounts'. This means I had quite a varied working weeks as many brands fall under this account. I have done work for Tesco, Goodfellas, Fox's, Kerry Foods and many more whilst working at VCG Kestrel. I liaise with the project managers and work with other team members to ensure that lines are created in time for given deadlines.
Before this, I worked for Spicerhaart in Colchester. I worked as part of the marketing team to generate material for the various brands under the Spicerhaart umbrella. I remained in contact with the administration team and the digital marketing team, as well as liaising with the in-house print team and external printers. I have been asked to create magazine spreads, booklets, newsletters, signs, billboards, web graphics and many other types of marketing material.
I previously held a designer position at at lifestyle magazine based in Essex. I created and designed the layouts and pages for each new magazine that came out, whilst trying to keep a uniform style with each magazine. I also developed and created adverts for several businesses on a regular basis as well as those who advertised in the magazine. I was also required to remain in contact with the print company and ensure that deadlines were met and adhered to. I helped to work on photoshoots, sourcing the outfits and managing the wardrobe. I pitched ideas for features and worked alongside the features department to generate material for the magazine. Along with this, I took the photograph used for the first edition cover of the magazine as well as designing the covers for each issue.

I also work with images, editing and resizing, I use Illustrator to work with icons and recreating maps, floorplans and collateral for events held throughout the year.
Graphic Designer - Careco
February 2016 - April 2016
I was tasked to recreate clear icons for the website during my time with Careco. I also reworked some of the newspaper advert templates that had been created previously. They were also looking to create a new line of products under the name of 'Ashley Anderson'. I gathered market information, knowledge of existing product types and laid the groundwork for the new brand.

Here I worked on layouts for magazines and adverts, sourcing images and materials required to complete the layouts and designs. The company held many events throughout the year and I worked on creating signage, invites, menus, booklets and other materials for these. I would also work on web banners, websites and landing pages for these events. I would update the company sites with information and whitepapers from various companies. I also gained experience with email blasts, both for internal events and external companies. I also gained experience shooting and editing videos using Premier Pro.

Working for numerous accounts for their various packaging requirements. I ensure the designs supplied from different companies are printable. Also having to alter and amend supplied designs if the printability has not been taken into consideration with the design. It is down to the Artworkers in the company to make sure that once the project has been designed by an external house, the final product looks exactly or as close as printably possible as the referenced files. This can become challenging when printing onto different substrates and onto many different shapes. It is up to me to overcome the challenges set and make sure that the client is happy with the end result. For this role, I predominantly use Adobe Illustrator.

I work on various marketing materials for the different brands under the Spicerhaart company umbrella. Working from head office as part of the marketing team, I remain in contact with branches, internal and external departments and print services. I work on media for different departments within head office also; be it signage, brochures, newsletters, invitations, general printed media and online media.
One project i repeatedly work on is Locate magazine for one of the brands. For this I place the images and the text into the property section and generate corp ads and breaker pages. I also create the adverts each week for this brand for the Evening Standard in London.

I was originally appointed to the company as a Digital Media Executive. This entailed: Creating ad campaigns, SEO, Google Adwords, website maintenance and design, social media marketing as well as design work for other companies under the same umbrella of companies.

This course helped me to establish a fuller understanding of Photoshop as well as the other programs within the Adobe Creative Suite. This helped to fuel my passion for Graphic Design and also help to cement in my mind that this is what I wanted to pursue as a career. I gained a basic knowledge of Illustrator and Dreamweaver, as well as a substantial knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign.
I covered many different aspects of graphic design, from Typography to marketing and animation.
Plume School Sixth Form

Here, I studied English Literature and Digital Photography. It was through this course, I developed a love for digital media and design. This course gave me a base knowledge of all things Photoshop and image editing. I ended up with a B grade overall for my A Level in Photography and an E grade in English Literature.
